GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Grand Valley State University has made another major purchase near its Health Sciences building on the top of Medical Mile Hill in Grand Rapids.

The school on Friday signed a $1.2 million purchase of seven more properties in a residential neighborhood near Lafayette Avenue north of I-96.

Officials will add those new lots to  some properties they bought in November 2011, giving the university the entire city block between Hastings and Trowbridge streets, and Prospect and Lafayette avenues.

Another health sciences building -- 144,000 square feet -- is planned for the site. There is no timeframe set for construction.
