Grand Rapids Police Department officers responded to a double shooting Thursday.
One of the victims suffered minor injuries after being shot in the arm. The other victim was more seriously injured. As of 9 p.m., he was in critical condition. Both are age 15 or 16.
The shooting occurred shortly after 3 p.m. in the area of Fuller Avenue and Boston Street near the Shell gas station. It was not at the Shell, but in the general area.
There are two suspects in the case. Police units searched the area, but were unsuccessful.
Surrounding streets were closed off at the time.
There are conflicting reports from witnesses in regards to what the victims were doing before getting shot. Some say they were getting off a public bus, others say they were on bikes. Police have not confirmed.
Officers are working to determine descriptions of the suspects. One description has been confirmed: A light-skinned black or Hispanic male.
Police are asking anyone with more information to come forward.
