GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A Huntington Bank branch was robbed Monday evening and Grand Rapids police are working to track down a suspect.

He is described as a black man, about 5-foot-10, wearing a dark-colored shirt, blue stocking cap with a white stripe and wire-frame glasses, police said. He is about 50 years old and clean-shaven, witnesses added.

Officers are using a police dog to track him.

The suspect entered the bank and gave the teller a note, demanding money. No weapon was seen in the robbery, on Grand Rapids' southeast side at 1158 Wealthy St.

He took the money and ran south from the bank, police said.

Officers stopped a vehicle after the incident which may have the suspect inside, but they're waiting on a bank employee to identify the person.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact GRPD at 616.456.3604 or Silent Observer. The FBI also will investigate, police said.
