GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The Michigan International Auto Show will open to the public in just two days.
The show is all about getting drivers behind the wheel of a new car -- but if you're just looking, there are a lot of cool things to see. The big draw is the Million Dollar Motorway, which features 17 high-end rides all priced over $100,000.
Workers were busy Tuesday putting final showroom shine on cars. They hope that icing on the cake will make it impossible for drivers to say no. In the midst of a lackluster economy, show organizers are hoping to draw you and your wallet through the door.
"This is a marketing event, quite honestly, by the manufacturers. All of the major manufacturers are here -- almost 40 of them. And this is how they get their new product out for people to see," said Henri Boucher of the Michigan International Auto Show.
Those manufacturers are in stiff competition to move metal. Finance rates are at near historic lows, so if you do your homework and find the incentives, you should be able to save a bundle on a new car.
If you are in the market, the Auto Show offers an opportunity to compare almost everything at once and indoors. The show runs from 3 p.m. Thursday through Sunday evening at DeVos Place.
WOOD TV8 will bring you the annual Auto Show Charity Spectacular Wednesday evening on WOOD TV8 and WOTV4Women.
