Film vet opens post-production house

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Film veteran Arnie Jones will open a new post-production house for movies, and will work with California companies to provide effects and resources.

Digital Design Village will work with companies connected with George Lucas' Industrial Light and Magic to help filmgoers who live here and those who come here to film.

"I absolutely know the talented people are here," Jones told 24 Hour News 8. "West Michigan is a feeder market for the media industry, has been for a long, long time. There's talent here in West Michigan to do this level of work."

Digital Design Village plans to be involved with area colleges to get students involved and plans to be active in developing media technology with local companies.

Located on Bond near downtown, Digital Design Village plans to be up and running with a small staff in about a month.
