The Federal Drug Administration says some people might be overdosing on medication unintentionally.
A panel voted Tuesday to lower the dose of Tylenol and dozens of other painkillers that contain acetaminophen.
The drug generally is considered safe, but can lead to severe liver damage and death, when ingested in high doses.
Dr. Bryan Judge, an emergency room doctor and toxicologist at Spectrum Health, came to the 24 Hour News 8 studio to discuss the issue. He has seen the effects of acetaminophen overdoses firsthand.
