Dr. discusses children's hospital honor

Now a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The Helen DeVos Children's Hospital has been verified as a Level One Pediatric Trauma Center, a designation shared only by two other hospitals in the state.

The verification comes from the American College of Surgeons. The hospital went through a rigorous application and review process to qualify.

Dr. Jim DeCou, the pediatric trauma director at the Helen DeVos Children's Hospital joined the 24 Hour News 8 studios Thursday to talk more about the honor. Watch the video to see his interview.
