GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) - There's another sign that Michigan's movie industry is continuing to grow.
Organizers announced Tuesday that the first Grand Rapids Film Festival will be held Aug. 26-28.
They say the festival will feature independent films, foreign movies, short films, children's features, animated films and documentaries that are message-driven and appeal to families.
About 30 films will be shown. Their titles will be announced in coming weeks.
Celebration Cinema North will host the festival. Admission will be $7 per screening, with all-event passes also available.
Organizers say several venues already have expressed an interest in serving as host sites for the festival in 2010.
