City pools help kids beat the heat

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - With temperatures climbing into the 90s on Sunday, several pools and splash pads will be busy.  Grand Rapids city pools will be open from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. Here is a list of the pools:

Briggs Park (Lafayette and Knapp NE)
Campau Park (South Division Avenue and Delaware SE)
Highland Park (Grand and Capen NE)
Lincoln Park (Bridge and Marion NW)
Martin Luther King, Jr. Park (Fuller and Franklin SE)
Richmond Park (Richmond and Tamarack NW)

Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for kids ages 4 to 17. Children ages 4 and younger are free.

Grand Rapids also has free water playgrounds with sprayers and fountains. Here are the locations:

Aberdeen Park School
Alger Park School
Heartside Park
Mary Waters Park
Mulick Park
Gerald R. Ford

These will be open from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

In Wyoming, the splash pad at Lamar Park will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
