GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A Chase Bank branch in Grand Rapids was robbed after a man walked behind the counter and started taking cash from the drawers around 10:19 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the suspect placed the cash in a dark colored bag and left the bank, located at 1935 Breton Rd SE.

The suspect is 5-foot-6 with a heavy build, investigators say. He was wearing yellow gloves, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and dark colored pants. Investigators say he left the scene in a white Ford Probe that was parked outside the front door. Police say he drove south on Breton Road and then west on Burton Street.

The get-away car was recovered a few blocks away from Burton. Investigators say they believe the suspect left the car and fled in another unknown vehicle.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Grand Rapids Police Department at (616) 456-3604 or Silent Observer at (616) 771-2345.
