GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Grand Rapids businessman Bob Sullivan told 24 Hour News 8 he wants to reopen and operate a city-owned pool this summer.
Richmond Park Pool and others in the city weren't going to be used this year due to budget issues.
But Sullivan said he told the city "give me the keys and I'll run the pool."
The city hasn't made a decision.
Sullivan said he thinks he could get the pool, near Richmond Street and Tamarack Avenue NW, open in a few weeks after getting approval.
He is only dealing with Richmond Park Pool, because he says that is where he swam as a child. He thinks it will cost him around $100,000.
"It's a shame youth don't have the privilege of going to a pool," Sullivan told 24 Hour News 8.
