GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A 16-year-old has entered into a plea agreement in the August homicide of a Grand Rapids man.
Court records show that Edmond Dawan Nevills, 16, pleaded guilty Monday to felony firearm and second-degree murder in the death of Tavon Jackson.
Jackson, 20, was shot in the chest multiple times in the middle of the afternoon on Aug. 3. He was pronounced dead at the scene in the driveway of an Andre Street residence.
Several families and kids were outside in the southwest-side neighborhood when Jackson was shot. At the time, one neighbor told 24 Hour News 8 she has three children and would move because of the shooting.
Nevills was arrested on Oct. 30 on an open murder charge.
Nevills was remanded without bond to the Kent County Juvenile Facility until his sentencing, which is scheduled for Dec. 12.
