GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A 17-year-old was shot to death inside a Grand Rapids home late Monday evening, according to police.
Investigators said Tykeece Myreon Rosa was shot around 10:10 p.m. in the 500 block of Fuller Ave. SE. Police told 24 Hour News 8 Rosa did not live at that home. They offered no information on why he was at the Fuller Ave. home.
Police interviewed several people inside the home. No one is in custody.
"We're certainly concerned about the increase in gun violence this summer," Grand Rapids Chief of Police Kevin Belk said. "Starting early in June, we had quite a surge especially in gun violence and in a number of areas of our city and we've been trying to respond in a variety of ways."
You are asked to call the Grand Rapids Police Department at (616) 456-3604 or Silent Observer at (616) 774-2345 if you can help with the case.
