GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The prosecution has rested in the federal court trial of Rami Saba who is accused of kidnapping and killing a man four years ago.
The court hearing on Thursday then wrapped up for the day and will resume on June 7.
Saba is accused of trying to steal money from Donald Dietz, of Saranac, and then kill him. Dietz, 66, known as "The Bicycle Man," has never been found.
The prosecution used its last witness on Thursday -- a Michigan State Police detective. Saba, who is representing himself in the trial, cross-examined that witness. Saba focused on whether evidence was contaminated. Judge Janet Neff scolded Saba a few times for arguing with the witness.
Raogo Ouedraogo -- a co-defendant and college pal of Saba -- was recently convicted at a separate trial in the same case. He is awaiting sentencing. Saba refused to testify in that trial.
