MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) - The mother of a 4-year-old boy reported missing from a mid-Michigan Indian reservation says she's holding out hope that he'll be found safe.
Twenty-one-year-old Jaimee Chamberlain tells The Associated Press on Monday that Carnel Chamberlain was being cared for by her boyfriend at her home near Mount Pleasant when the child disappeared Thursday. She says she got home from work that night and her boyfriend told her Carnel wasn't there.
Chamberlain says she looked inside her home and called police. She says she didn't know what happened and wants her son home.
Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe spokesman Frank Cloutier says authorities planned to regroup Monday after search teams, the FBI, police dogs and more than 100 volunteers scoured the area Sunday.
The tribe has said the boy's disappearance was "suspicious."
