REYNOLDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A woman died and a man was seriously injured after two vehicles collided head-on Monday night in Montcalm County.
The man was driving south on Federal Road when his Honda CRV crossed the center line and collided with the woman's northbound Pontiac Montana, according to a news release.
The 55-year-old woman from Howard City was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 64-year-old man from Sand Lake was initially unresponsive when emergency personnel arrived around 10:30 p.m. at the scene near W. Almy Road in Reynolds Township. He was then transported to a hospital for treatment to rib, ankle and possible head injuries.
Neither of the victims were wearing a seat belt, police said.
A witness told police the driving conditions were affected by nearly whiteout conditions, investigators at the scene told 24 Hour News 8.
Police said alcohol was not a factor in the crash and the investigation continues.
