MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say a 23-year-old man is facing multiple charges related to a string of recent armed robberies in mid-Michigan.
Vincent M. Belmarez was arraigned Tuesday in Mount Pleasant on 13 counts related to four robberies last month. The Associated Press left a message Wednesday morning for his attorney, Thomas Weiss.
The charges Belmarez faces include four counts of armed robbery and four counts each of assault with a dangerous weapon and felony firearm.
He's charged with robbing a Subway restaurant in Mount Pleasant. A cash-advance shop was robbed by a man who threatened an employee with a handgun.
A grocery store and another cash-advance outlet also were robbed.
