KEENS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - The oldest covered bridge still in use in Michigan was damaged by a hit-and-run driver, and police believe they know who ran into the bridge on Friday.
White's Covered Bridge, which crosses the Flat River in Ionia County, suffered a hole in its side in the accident and is now shut down. But the vehicle left behind some tell-tale markers, and investigators were able to identify the driver, the passenger and the vehicle.
There's no word on when the bridge will be re-opened. The investigation continues.
