MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) - Central Michigan University faculty and administrators are expected to return to the bargaining table in the final weekend before classes are scheduled to begin.
The Saginaw News reported Friday that the two sides are set to return to talks Saturday morning at the Mount Pleasant school after a seven-hour meeting on Friday.
Faculty members on Monday authorized their union leaders to call a job action that could include a strike over the failure to reach a labor contract. The professors have been without a contract since June 30.
The semester is to start Monday, and the university has said it expects classes to begin as scheduled.
