FLINT, Mich. (AP) - Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton says "there is no motive at this point" as authorities continue investigating a man being held in connection with a three-state stabbing spree that left five people dead and 13 others wounded.
Thirty-three-year-old Elias Abuelazam was arrested Wednesday night in Atlanta before a flight to Israel, his native country, and charged with attempted murder in a July 27 knife strike in Flint, where all but four of the 18 attacks occurred.
Other attacks were in Leesburg, Va., and Toledo, Ohio. Leyton tells WWJ-AM Friday the attacker said nothing during the assaults, and no written statements or graffiti have been discovered. Additional charges are expected.
Abuelazam is being held at the Fulton County, Ga., jail. It was not known if he had an attorney.
