GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A man already in an Ionia prison for trying to have his ex-wife killed admitted he tried to hire someone from inside prison to try and kill her again.
David Albers was already serving a nine- to 30-year sentence for hiring someone to kill his wife, Andrea. But while in prison, he learned about someone who could find a hit man to try and kill her again.
Albers twice met with the alleged hit man - an undercover state trooper - who agreed to kill Andrea for $2500.
Originally, Albers tried to hire a hit man between 2009-10.
For this attempt, Albers faces a federal sentence of 10 years. A judge will decide how the sentences will run.
He's now been transferred from Ionia to a Muskegon prison.
