No charges in Belding mall issue

Prosecutor said no evidence of any crime

IONIA, Mich. (WOOD) - After reviewing the case, the Ionia County prosecutor will not press charges against the management of the Covered Village Mall in Belding.

Prosecutor Ron Schafer looked into the case that involved t he wife of Belding's mayor, Mindy Husted. She owned a store and sat on the mall's board of directors, and allegations surfaced over mismanagement of mall money.

Schafer said it's unfortunate businesses in the mall got hurt, but there was no evidence to suggest anything criminal was involved.
