SIDNEY, Mich. (WOOD) - A woman is facing an additional charge in connection with a case in which police say a baggie of methamphetamine was found in her grandson's diaper.
Lorri Compo, her boyfriend, Roman Sobie, and two others were caught with the drug and materials to make it during a raid on Aug. 12 at a home in Sidney.
The baby, 1-year-old Steven Rish Jr., and his mother, Katrina Compo, were living in the home, and Compo said she knew nothing of any meth production or use.
Steven was taken into custody of Child Protective Services after the raid and later turned over to his paternal grandmother, Kandi Witter-Hardy. It was Witter-Hardy who changed Steven's diaper and found the drugs. But exactly where the drugs were placed is unknown. The meth could have been put inside the diaper or inside the child.
Lorri Compo was originally arraigned on use of cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstacy charges and maintaining a drug house. Now she faces a charge of misdemeanor child abuse.
Sobie was arraigned on a separate charge of possession of cocaine, according to Michigan State Police records.
