BAY CITY, Mich. (WOOD) - The man linked to the death of a Mount Pleasant 4-year-old did not speak at his arraignment Monday.
Carnel Chamberlain's body was found burned and badly burned in June at his home on Saginaw-Chippewa tribal land. Carnel shared that home with his mother and her boyfriend Anthony Bennett.
Bennett now faces charges of assaulting Carnel prior to the little boy's death.
In a Bay City federal courtroom Monday, Bennett's attorney entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf.
He remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshal.
