IONIA, Mich (WOOD) - The city of Ionia is looking for thousands of dollars from the
parent company of radio station B-93 after the Birthday Bash turned
into a bust.
Hundreds of vehicles were abandoned
that
weekend in June when flood waters took over the Ionia
fairgrounds where the concerts were taking place.
24 Hour News 8 spoke with Ionia City Manager Jason Eppler
Saturday afternoon. He said the city will seek nearly $41,000
from Clear Channel Communications so the city can pay for extra
costs incurred when the festival fell apart.
Police provided around the clock surveillance to prevent
looting and theft.
24 Hour News 8 put a call into Clear Channel. We have not
received a call back.
