CHARLOTTE, Mich. (WOOD) - One person was severely injured after a methamphetamine lab exploded in the upstairs apartment of a downtown building in Charlotte.
The explosion happened around 10:40 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of E. Lawrence Avenue.
Police told 24 Hour News 8 there was an active meth lab in the apartment. There is only one apartment upstairs in the building.
WILX reported the downstairs building seemed to be a tattoo parlor.
The only person that was in the apartment was taken to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, and was then airlifted to the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor.
According to police, there was extensive damage to the building, but no arrests have been made at this time.
