Safe stolen from Hastings business

HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) - A safe containing a very small amount of cash and some credit receipts was stolen from a Barry County business.

Hastings police officers were dispatched at 7:15 p.m. Sept. 12 to the larceny at Smokey Mountain Tobacco Shop, 125 E. State St.

Employees told authorities the thief carried the 74-pound safe out of the open business.

Several suspects have been developed and the investigation is continuing, according to a news release sent to the media on Wednesday.
