HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) - An inmate at the Barry County Jail faces additional charges for allegedly soliciting someone to attack another individual.
Carlton Vur Adams, 63, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of soliciting another person to commit assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.
Bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety, according to the Barry County Sheriff's Department.
Adams was already in jail for third-offense operating a vehicle under the influence and operating a vehicle with the presence of controlled substances.
He was sentenced May 23 to 12 months in jail and restitution for those crimes, according to the Hastings Banner.
The Banner said the original conviction stemmed from a 2010 fatal motorcycle crash Adams was involved in. A charge of operating while intoxicated causing death was dismissed.
Adams is scheduled to be back in court on July 25.
