GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A former Hastings school bus driver was sentenced in circuit court on Thursday after pleading guilty to two counts of sexual assault of a minor.
James Kohn was sentenced to spend 18 to 50 years in prison in two counts, but the sentences will be served concurrently.
He pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct with a person under the age of 13. Kohn's guilty plea was part of a deal in which three other charges were dropped.
Kohn was arrested in August 2011. The victim in the case was not on his school bus at the time.
Kohn, 47, also faces federal charges of sexual exploitation of a child and possession of child pornography. He is scheduled to appear in the Grand Rapids federal court for those charges in April.
