HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) - A Rockford woman was airlifted to Spectrum Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids on Tuesday after crashing her car in Hastings.
The 21-year-old driver was traveling south on M-37 when she crossed the center line and into the northbound lane, according to Hastings police. She then drove off the road and her vehicle hit a utility pole near the corner of S. Hanover Street and South Street.
Emergency personnel extricated the driver from her car. She was then flown to the hospital via Aero Med for treatment of internal injuries.
Speed and poor weather conditions are believed to be factors in the accident, police said.
