Parents are grieving baby's death

HASTINGS, Mich. (WOOD) - A 7-month-old infant apparently suffocated after pushing itself under a sofa arm cushion, Hastings police said Wednesday.
On Monday morning, a 911 call by a relative to the police said the infant on the sofa not breathing. A pulse was re-established at a nearby hospital, but the infant was transported to a Grand Rapids hospital and died the next day.
The family is grieving their loss.
Officials remind everyone about the proper sleeping arrangements for infants.
