ASSYRIA, Mich. (WOOD) - Two people were injured when their vehicles collided on a Barry County road Monday afternoon, resulting in one of the vehicles being riped in half.
One of the victims -- a 25-year-old Battle Creek man -- was ejected from the more-damaged car. A medical helicopter took him to a Kalamazoo hospital and his condition is unknown at this time.
The other victim -- an 83-year-old Bellevue woman -- was treated at the scene.
The man was traveling south on M-66 and his car crossed the center line, police said, and collided with the woman's northbound car near Day Road in Assyria Township.
Both vehicles ended on the grassy area off the side of the road.
The area was closed for several hours as rescue crews cleared the scene.
