Wrong-way driver leads police on chase

PLAINWELL, Mich. (WOOD) - A man is behind bars after going  the wrong way on U.S. 131 and topping speeds of more than 100 miles per hour.

Plainwell Department of Public Safety said the chase with officers started at the Business Loop heading toward Kalamazoo around 2:30 a.m. Saturday.

Police said the car was driving northbound in the southbound lane.

But the chase didn't last long after the driver's vehicle ran out of gas near mile marker 54. He is now expected to face several charges.
