Juvenile burglars found hiding in tent

ALLEGAN, Mich. (WOOD) - A police dog helped track down four juveniles who allegedly broke into a grocery store in Allegan and stole alcohol and cigarettes.

Deputies were dispatched at 3:40 a.m. after an alarm sounded at J&R Grocery, 1275 Lincoln Road. Police arrived and noticed the front door was smashed.

A sheriff's department canine unit tracked the suspects about a half mile from the store to a mobile home community where four juveniles were in a tent.

Police talked with the suspects' parents, searched the tent and found the numeous stolen items.

The suspects were released to their parents.

Charges are pending in the case.
