BRADLEY, Mich. (WOOD) - The Gun Lake Casino has announced it gave a little more than $8.6 million to the State of Michigan and the local community during a six-month period, as required by a state gaming compact.
The Gun Lake Tribe reported it paid the State of Michigan a total of $7,002,443 for the period between April and September 2012. The tribe is required to give between 8 and 12 percent of net electronic gaming revenue after payouts to the State of Michigan.
The Gun Lake Tribe reported that it also paid $1,679,512 to the local revenue sharing board for that same six-month period. The board distributes the money to the community including local governments and schools. The tribe is required to give 2 percent of net electronic gaming revenue after payouts to the local revenue sharing board.
By examining the figures provided by the tribe, it shows that the casino took in more than $83 million in net electronic gaming revenue after payouts between April and September 2012.
Since opening in February 2011, the Gun Lake Tribe has paid a total of $27,136,145 to state and local governments.
