CHESHIRE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A man driving a go-cart without headlights or taillights died when he was hit by a car early Saturday morning in Allegan County.
Junior Lee Smith, 43, was on 37th Street near the intersection of 111 Avenue around 1 a.m., the Allegan County Sheriff's Office said, when he was hit by a car driven by a 28-year-old man from Allegan.
Deputies said Smith died at the scene.
The accident is still being investigated, and alcohol is believed to be a factor. The sheriff's office said no charges are being sought against the driver at this time.
