Authorities: Lawyer ran 2 meth labs

WAYLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - A Wayland-area attorney has been arrested on allegations that he was running methamphetamine labs out of his office and home.

Officers from the West Michigan Enforcement Team confiscated meth lab materials at the Wayland office Patrick Burson and from his Otsego-area home, according to the Michigan State Police.

Burson and a second suspect, whose name is being withheld pending arraignment, may now face charges. Those charges will be determined after crime lab analysis is completed, WEMET said.

WEMET said that it also confiscated nearly $1,000 in cash.

This was the 41st meth lab investigation WEMET has handled this year, it said.
