ALLEGAN, Mich. (WOOD) - A teen involved in a multi-state manhunt with two prison escapees was arrested in Allegan Friday after a warrant was sworn out related to that case.
Brittany Rector faces charges of second-degree home invasion and stealing a car and if convicted could spend up to 15 years in prison.
She was taken into custody around 1:30 p.m. Friday and arraigned shortly after.
An investigator told an Allegan County judge that Rector admitted taking part in a break-in at a home on 22nd Street on Oct. 5, 2012, and were with escapees Kenneth Grauman, Gregory Bradshaw, and Grauman's cousin, Lauralee Grauman.
Documents reveal they said they used a crowbar to break into the home, where they stole money, food, a weapon and keys to a car. They drove that Ford to Kokomo, Ind. before abandoning it in the parking lot of a Kroger store.
Rector, 18, returned to Michigan soon after her arrest in Colorado. There is also an ongoing investigation relating to her involvement with illegal drugs since her return from Colorado.
Lauralee Grauman, who was recently released from a Colorado jail, is also wanted by the Allegan County Sheriff's Department on the same charges Rector faces, and is once again considered a fugitive.
Kenneth Grauman and Bradshaw remain behind bars in Colorado on a number of charges.
