GAINES TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Kent County sheriff's deputies arrested two people in connection to a double shooting Friday in Gaines Township.

Both male victims were shot
inside a unit at the Woodfield Apartment complex just off 60th Street in Gaines Township around 3 p.m.

24 Hour News 8 learned from a police source that one of the suspects is 26-year-old Julius Jackson.

Jackson was arraigned Monday on charges of armed robbery and assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder.

The driver of a car who police said dropped off one of the victims at another apartment complex was also arrested.

Sheriff's deputies arrested Jackson in downtown Grand Rapids early Saturday morning in the 300 block of Ionia Avenue. The Grand Rapids Police Special Response Team helped execute an arrest warrant at an apartment, according to a police source with knowledge of the arrest.

24 Hour News 8 checked state records that show Jackson could face three felony charges -- robbery, assault, and a weapons offense -- but the charges could change by Monday when he is expected to be arraigned in a Kent County courtroom.

Jackson's criminal record dates back to 2003. State records show he faced a stolen vehicle charge and was found guilty of controlled substance use. He pleaded guilty to an armed robbery charge in 2005 and was sentenced to 54 months in prison.
