No arrests yet in Bouwman murder case

KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) - A heavy police presence surrounded a Kentwood neighborhood Saturday evening as the search for suspects in the slaying of David and Vivian Bouwman continues.

The Bouwans were killed inside their home on Stowevalley Drive in Princeton Estates on Jan. 5.

The police perimeter on Saturday night was set up around Princeton Estates, and in the same neighborhood where a search warrant was executed earlier in the week.

A police helicopter was called in to assist, but called off before it left the ground. The perimeter was taken down around at 8:23 p.m. Saturday. No one was taken into custody.

Javonte Higgins, 22, has been identified as a "person of interest." A composite sketch of an unidentified man was released as well.
