PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - A dog woke up a woman and her husband inside their burning Plainfield Township home in the early hours of Sunday, allowing them to escape though the woman was severely burned.
Just after 4 a.m., the house at 915 10 Mile Road NE collapsed from the blaze.
Rescue crews told 24 Hour News 8 the couple, Tim and Patricia DeVos, were able to get out of the home, but the woman was taken to a hospital with severe burns.
Tim DeVos is a popular driver at Berlin Raceway.
The cause of the fire has not yet been released.
