One person is in custody after causing a three car crash on East Beltline and Burton Street and then fleeing the scene. (December 30, 2012)

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - One person is in custody following a crash on East Beltline and Burton Street that shut down the area for over an hour.
Grand Rapids Police tell 24 Hour New 8 the driver of a Sedan was heading westbound on Burton St. when he ran a red light and hit two other vehicles around 11 p.m. Sunday.
Following the crash, the driver and passenger of the Sedan both took off on foot. Police were able to track down the female passenger quickly afterwards and used their K-9 unit to track down the driver who was found about eight blocks away on Woodcliff Avenue and Burton.
Police said two other passengers were in the Sedan at the time of the crash and had to be taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
No one was badly hurt in the other two vehicles involved in the crash.
The driver has been charged with operating while intoxicated and driving with a suspended license.
