BIG RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - An 18-year-old Ferris State University student found in a Big Rapids snowbank has been upgraded to serious condition.
Nicholas Suttles was found in the Division Avenue snowbank on the morning of Feb. 15.
He had severe hypothermia and an irregular heartbeat when he was found. Friends told 24 Hour News 8 at the time his body temperature was 70 degrees.
Suttles remains in a Grand Rapids hospital.
Investigators believe Suttles brought his own alcohol to a party and drank a large amount. His intoxication coupled with not wearing a coat when he left the party on foot contributed to his medical condition.
