GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A hard hat media tour of the new L. William Seidman Center at Grand Valley State University's downtown Grand Rapids campus is scheduled for Monday.
The tour will be hosted by H. James Williams, dean of Grand Valley's Seidman College of Business, and project manager Bob Brown.
The center is located near Watson Street and Front Avenue SE. It is named for Bill Seidman, founding chair of Grand Valley's Board of Trustees and former Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation chairman.
The $40 million project will be completed in May 2013 and will be Grand Valley's 16th LEED-certified building.
The center will support the Seidman College of Business' growing reputation as the premier business school in the Midwest. It will also house the Small Business and Technology Development Center, the Van Andel Global Trade Center, the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and the Center for Leadership and Innovation.
In its 40-year history, the Seidman College of Business has grown from 145 students to more than 3,000.
