Pilot program hands out smartphones and tablets

GREENVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - Students and teachers in Greenville are taking a big step into a new phase of education.

Teachers and their 450 students at Greenville High School and Baldwin Elementary School will start using smartphones and tablets.

The pilot program begins Tuesday and involves the Droid X2s and Samsung Galaxy Tabs.

District officials hope this pilot program will help students with literacy, problem solving and taking pride in their schoolwork.
