GRANDVILLE, Mich. (WOOD) - If you want to set the world record for the most people participating in a lip dub, you'll have to beat the students at Grandville High School.
What's a lip dub ? It's a continuous video shot with people taking turns lip syncing to music. Over 1,400 students took part in an after-school project on March 9 to set the lip dub record to music from Katy Perry, Michael Buble, Billy Idol and others.
Two cameras shot the video simultaneously, and no cuts or edits were made. Seven Grandville High School students -- Jake Blaukamp, Marcel Gossett, Matt Hoogerhyde, Sam Kiste, Jeff Sawyer, Josh Stoneburner and Mike Terpstra -- were the camera crew.
The project was planned and produced by the Grandville High School AV students in Terry Blevins' class as a Mise en Scene .
The nine-minute video tells the story of a couple that meet, think of meeting again and then finally do meet.
According to the school, the largest previous lip dub on record featured 600 people.
