GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The Grand Rapids Public School board approved the sale of the former Eastern, Lexington and Oakdale schools on Monday night.
Ojibway Development, based in the Detroit suburb of Troy, plans to turn the three vacant school buildings into apartments. Ojibway will pay $1.6 million for the trio.
There was opposition to the sale, including the president of the Southwest Area Neighbors, who expressed concerned over having more apartments.
