KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) - Rescue personnel had to extricate a Bangor man out of his vehicle after it crashed into a tree in Kalamazoo.

Police said drugs and speed are factors in the wreck that occurred at 12:20 a.m. Monday near Springmont Avenue and Barnard Avenue.

The 35-year-old man was driving east when he lost control of his vehicle, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety.

He was taken to a hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses are asked to call police at 269.337.8994 or Silent Observer at 269.343.2100.
