WRIGHT TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Residents living in the neighborhood where police say Troy Brake killed four people watched the developments in Brake's Grand Rapids case closely.
Brake was found guilty in a Kent County courtroom on multiple charges that he beat, sexually assaulted, and tried to kill Mary Louise Parker.
Brake has yet to be tried on the most serious allegations against him - that he killed four people in a Wright Township home in September, then set the house on fire.
Sharmaine Zimmer, Tyler Zimmer, Jeremy Zimmer, and Katherine Brown were killed in the Wright Township incident.
One of the Zimmers' neighbors Bob Bentley says he's watching the case involving Brake and Parker closely.
"Normally I don't (watch trials) but this one I am," Bentley said.
The burnt shell of what was the Zimmer household was recently torn down. Bentley says it helps not to have to see that memory each day- but not enough.
"For this whole neighborhood right here, we want it to be over with and done with- to get back to our regular lives," Bentley said.
Brake will go to trial for the homicides in May. He may also have a third trial to face allegations that he shot a Grand Rapids pimp.
