WAYLAND, Mich. (WOOD) - The owner of Wayland Chevrolet, Michael Kelly, told 24 Hour News 8 they have closed, effective at the end of business hours on Friday.

He said the 30 employees were told about the closing earlier Friday.

Kelly said the parts facility had already closed.

The dealership has been at this location since 1991. Kelly said he has owned it for 15 years.

According to Kelly, he alerted other dealers of this announcement and asked them to consider hiring his former employees.

Severance packages for the employees will be worked out later.

The remaining new vehicles on the lot will go back to Chevrolet, and the used cars will go to an auction.
